Listing Your Class
Welcome! We want to list your TeleClass! Please read all of the following information before listing your class. There is additional Information at the Instructor Help page.

List Your Class Now!

  1. The process
You'll be filling out a web-based form.  Then, within 2 business days of submitting your class, we'll post it here at TeleClass.com for the world to see. (Note: We do reserve the right to not post a class that has objectionable material or that intrudes on the intellectual property rights of others.)  There is a nominal fee to list a class. The fee includes the use of a telephone bridge through www.bridgerentals.com and is based on the number of sessions/weeks/meetings that your TeleClass has.

Note: The fee is the same whether you are offering your class to the public for free or for a fee.

 Listing Fee

 Number of TeleClass meetings/segments
 $39  One TeleClass/course with 1 or 2 segments/meetings
 $49  One TeleClass/course with 3 or 4 segments/meetings
 $59  One TeleClass/course with 5 or 6 segments/meetings
 $69  One TeleClass with 7, 8, 9, or 10 segments/meetings

To qualify for a $49, $59 or $69 listing, i.e. single teleclass with multiple segments, the criteria are that:

  • the content is different for EACH session
  • the participants are the same for ALL sessions

If you wish to teach the same material over a number of sessions to a different group of students each time, then you need a separate listing for each teleclass.

Notes:
--Listing fee includes one free listing in the weekly TeleClass News which is broadcast to 17,000+ students each week.
--Deadline for the weekly TeleClass News is 5:00pm Eastern on Tuesdays. Each edition is emailed on Wednesday and contains listings for the following week.
--Your class can be up to 55 minutes in length; it's the same listing fee.
--A bridge line from www.bridgerentals.com is included in the listing fee. Please note: You will be taken to the bridge line reservation page as soon as your payment for the teleclass listing is confirmed - please do not book directly at www.bridgerentals.com or you will be charged for the reservation. You may also use your own bridge if you wish (the listing fee remains the same).
--Listing fees are in US Dollars.
--You can cancel your class at anytime, but we do not offer a refund or credit for cancelled classes.

  2. Acceptable Classes
We accept most classes for listing at TeleClass.com. You may teach a class on almost any subject, including:
--Business/Entrepreneurs
--Certifications
--Coaching/Consulting (but not coach training)

--Computers
--Family
--Health
--Internet
--Money/Personal Finance

--Professional Development
--Relationships/Dating/Marriage
--Recreation
--Spirituality/Religion
--Training/Teaching
You may list a class that runs up to 10 weeks. You may even list group coaching but only if it's not targeted to training coaches. You may also list group discussions.

  3. Classes we cannot list
There are some classes we cannot list here. These include:
1. Coach-training related. Coach U, CoachVille and the Graduate School of Coaching have exclusive contracts with us to list their classes. This includes classes offering "mentor" training as well.

  • Training involves teaching coaches certain materials and providing them with a set of resources that they can use to help clients work towards specific goals.
  • Mentoring would be walking a coach through a specific process and offering feedback on how they did, what could be done differently, where improvements can be made, etc.

2. Teleclass Leader Training. We already offer these from in-house instructors.
3. Multilevel marketing.  We do not list MLM or network marketing classes. Sorry.
4. Any class/topic that isn't 100% up front and honest (No product pitches unless clearly stated in the class description. No hard sells to a tuition-based program.)
5. Anything that intrudes on the intellectual property rights of others.

If you're not sure if your class qualifies, and would like to get pre-approval so that you know we can list your class, feel free to email us the title and brief description of your class to help@teleclass.com.

  4. Instructor Qualifications
You will need to have completed a formal TeleClass Leader training in order to teach a TeleClass at TeleClass.com. For details of how to be trained as a TeleClass Leader, please visit: TeleClassLeader.com.

Approved TeleClass Leader Courses include:
-- 6 week TeleClass Leader Training (live teleclasses and/or RealAudio recordings).
-- Coach U's TeleClass Leader Training.

-- TeleClass International's TeleClass Leader Training.

The following course does not qualify you to list at TeleClass.com:
-- 5-day Certified Leader Program.

If you are a qualified instructor and wish to co-lead a class with another instructor, please note that the other instructor must also be qualified.  In order to create your joint account, please send an email to help@teleclass.com providing details of the instructor names, and an email address which is accessible by both parties.

  5. Suggestions for instructors
To ensure a successful class, we suggest the following:
1. List your class between 3 and 6 weeks before the start date of your class.
2. Start with a free class of one, two, three or four sessions. If these prove to be popular, then offer a tuition-based class. (Note: If you wish to start with a tuition-based, class, no problem. But you should know that it will probably attract very few, if any, registrations. )
3. Set the class size at 40 to 75. Remember, with free classes, you may have up to a 40% no show rate.
4. Only teach what you have experience with. Don't disappoint, oversell or otherwise mislead.
5. Always describe WHO the class is for specifically, in your class description.

  6. How students register for a free class
If the class you list is a free class (meaning that you do not charge for it), our system will handle everyone's registration, automatically. In fact, our system is set up to do all of this for you. Students receive an immediate confirmation with the bridge number, time/dates and pre-class instructions, if any. In fact, you write this letter when you list your class with us, so it's really from you personally. You'll receive regular reports and the email addresses of students as they register, so you have everything you need to contact them.

Note: Your students can register for their classes at http://www.teleclass.com or via our email system. Details will be forwarded to you so you can make registration a snap!

7. How students register for fee classes
If your class is a fee class (meaning you are charging students to attend), you will be handling the registration, confirmations, reminders, fee collection, etc. All we are doing is offering a low-cost listing for you; students will be emailing you with their interest or visiting your website if you so direct them to.

   8. Reserving your bridge
Occasionally, instructors will complete their listing only to find there are no bridge lines available for the scheduled time. Should this happen, simply e-mail help@teleclass.com and with an alternative time or date (rather than creating a new listing). You can also confirm bridge availability prior to completing the schedule information in your listing by visiting www.bridgerentals.com and clicking on the link to "check for availability before I reserve a bridge." Just a reminder - do not book the bridge line directly form www.bridgerentals.com. You'll be directed to reserve the bridge after the payment for your listing has been processed.

If you are using your own bridge, please make sure you include your bridge number on the class listing application form.

   9. Marketing
It's up to you to market your own class. However, once a week, we broadcast a list of the following week's classes to our growing network of students, instructors, members and subscribers. If the class you offer is free, our marketing efforts may help to direct people to your class. If your class is fee-based, our marketing efforts probably won't be enough to help you fill your class. We highly recommend that you offer one or more free, single-session TeleClasses first to see what the market wants.

   10. Duplicating a Class
You would want to use this option when you are going to schedule to teach again a class that you already have listed in our system.  All you have to do is to update the times/dates in the schedule and welcome/confirmation e-mail letter and you're all set!  (Otherwise you'd have to start over and type in the course description, etc., etc.,  So, it's a real timesaver.  Even if you want to change some of the text/description, you'll still save time by first duplicating an existing class and making the changes from that point.
Here's how to duplicate a class:
- click here now "Student Log In "
- enter your email and password.
- at the next page, click on "View/Update/Duplicate/Cancel the Classes I'm teaching", third line from the top.
- click on "Duplicate" next to the class you wish to duplicate.

- make changes in ALL of the places where the date and time are indicated.
- make any other changes you wish
- Click the "Duplicate Class" button at bottom of page and continue with
the review, submission and credit card pay process

11. Update an Existing Class Listing
You would want to use this option when you spot a typo or want to tweak or edit the wording in your listing.
Here's how to update a class:
- click here now "Student Log In "
- enter your email and password.
- at the next page, click on "View/Update/Duplicate/Cancel the Classes I'm teaching", third line from the top.
- click on "Update" next to the class you wish to update.
- make any changes you wish
- if you make a change in the Schedule field, or the Bridge number field, only make typo corrections, not real schedule changes, as the system will not recognize actual schedule or bridge number changes at this spot. (to make those changes, go to duplicate a listing, #10, above.)

- Click the "Update Class Listing" button at bottom of page and you're done.

   12. Cancel an Existing Class Listing
Use this option if you want to stop registrations from occurring for a class. If you do this before anyone signs up, your class will simply cancel.  If you do this after you already have students signed up, you will need to email your students to inform them of your cancellation.
Here's how to cancel a class:
- click here now "Student Log In "
- enter your email and password.
- at the next page, click on "View/Update/Duplicate/Cancel the Classes I'm teaching", third line from the top.
- click on "Cancel" next to the class you wish to update.
- send an email from your email program to the students who are already registered, informing them of the cancellation.
Once you have done this, please send an email to help@teleclass.com with the Class number and Section number and we'll remove the listing for you.  Please note that we cannot offer a refund or credit for cancelled classes.  Sorry.

   13. Changing Instructor's Bio
Go to www.teleclass.com, and click on "List a Class."
At the next page, click "List Your Class Now", third line from top.
On the next page, enter your email and password.
At the next page, make the necessary changes to your profile.
Click "Proceed", then exit the listing area.
Your changes will be saved.

   14. Collecting payment for pay classes you are leading
How should I ask students to pay tuition for my fee classes?
By check, fax, phone, PayPal or by any secure pay system you might have on your own website. Do not ask them to email you their credit card information. Electronic mail sent through the Internet is not secure and is often and easily intercepted by third-party 'sniffer programs.'  You may also want to set up a shopping cart to handle payments online via CartVille.com.  This automates the entire registration, confirmation and payment process for classes!
Note:  TeleClass.com does not accept student fees on behalf of instructors.  Sorry.

   15. Teaching other people's work
May I teach a class that is based on someone else's program or book?
Not without written permission from the author and/or publisher. It's usually okay to mention a key point or two from someone else's material or to ask students to read a book for reference, but if the substance of your class is taken directly from another's work, you will have to obtain written permission from the author. (Quite often, this is willingly given.) We will ask that you forward a copy of this written authorization to us via email to help@teleclass.com.

   16. Bridge problems
Please note that when you sign up for the free bridge line through www.bridgerentals.com, you will receive an automatic confirmation message which provides details about how to access a back up bridge line if required.  These details are unique to each booking so please have that email handy when you connect.  You may also wish to review the "bridge tips and troubleshooting" details for additional information such as:

If you call the bridge and the phone rings endlessly, this could mean:

  • Wrong Bridge Number. Of course, you'll want to locate and dial the correct bridge number.
  • Number was Misdialed. Check the number and dial again carefully.
  • Called Early/First Caller. If you are the first caller, the phone will ring endlessly until someone else calls in - then you'll be automatically connected. If you are first or early, let it ring about 15-20 times, hang-up and call again.
  • Translated the Time Incorrectly. You may want to review time translations at http://www.timeanddate.com.

  17. Miscellaneous Q&A

May I let people attend my free TeleClasses if they don't register through TeleClass.com's system?

Yes, of course.  It's your class, not ours.  Simply drop us an email to help@teleclass.com and ask us to update the number count as necessary.

May I list my classes at places other than TeleClass.com?

Yes, of course.  Whatever is best for you.  Please note, however, that you may only ask your students to register by signing up through teleclass.com's registration system or your own.  No redirects to other teleclass sites please.

How much in advance should I list my class?

Between 3 and 8 weeks.  The earlier the better and the more it will fill.

How do I get my class listed in the weekly email broadcast that goes out to students?

We do this for your automatically.  Currently, there is no 'promo' fee to be included.  However, you can arrange for a larger listing in the ezine/broadcast and/or take out an advertisement.  For information and pricing, visit ad info. To reserve space, email help@teleclass.com.

My class starts tonight and I lost the bridge number.

To find the bridge number for any of your classes:
Go to teleclass.com and click on "Student Login".
On the next page, enter your email and password.
At the next page, click on "My Classes", third line from the top.
On this page will be a table of all your classes, with bridge numbers.

How do I convert my time zone to Eastern/NY Time?

Easy! Just go here: http://www.globalmetric.com/time/

How can I get my class audiotaped or RealAudio'd?
You can buy a $20 adapter from RadioShack that connects your phone to your tape recorder (details may be found at http://www.certifiedcyber.com/19audiotapingcall.html).   Make certain that all students know that they are being recorded.  It is illegal to not give this notice.

I live in a country other than the United States. Can I still lead TeleClasses?
Yes, of course.  We have instructors from all over the world.

Can I rent a bridge for a class that I've not listed at TeleClass.com?
Yes, we would be happy to help you.  Cost is ranges from $10 to $20 per hour for a 30- or 150-person bridge.  Use our automated, real-time system at http://www.bridgerentals.com.

How do I get subscribed to the weekly TeleClass Leader News?
